Out of Reach
Things that were once safe and out of reach are now just within reach and accessible to our daring 2 year old. He's been waking up and not telling anyone he's awake to discover new things in the house.
Two days ago Craig woke up to Oliver standing on the table swinging the chandelier.
This morning I awoke to Oliver sitting at the desk in the kitchen attempting to put scotch tape in a magazine. He had clearly tried to rip the tape a few times and was unsuccessful. The tape was a about 3 feet long.
Yesterday he grabbed the glue stick from the drawer and demanded to paint with it.
A few days ago he woke from his nap and was caught in their bathroom brushing his teeth with Landon's toothbrush with toothpaste on it. Unsure how much toothpaste he consumed. Toothpaste now stored in cabinet.
The matches are now stored up higher.
The scissors were put up in the cabinet months ago.

So I need to catch up on a few things around here and blogging has taken a backseat to the never-ending household chores.
Laundry seems to be somewhat out of control.
I barely make it through the day unloading the dishwasher.
Why all of a sudden does it feel like 3 kids is a lot?
I feel like we were breezing through the first 3 months with Clara and now the pile has grown into a mountain. Piles of things I want to do and need to do.
Mostly we just make it through the day, sometimes falling apart at bedtime.
Tonight was a meltdown of extreme proportions.
I have Clara's 3 month pictures still on the camera. I now need to take a 4 month picture.
The computer monitor is broken. It turns on and immediately goes to sleep mode. Major bummer.
All those mental blog posts are going to be wasted by the time the computer situation gets fixed.
On a positive note, I successfully (with the help of my Mother) executed a second birthday party for Oliver last week. Dump trucks were the theme and I try not to get too carried away with a theme. Mostly because I have no time for that sort of organization but also because I hate matchy matchy.
My Mom and Dad surprised us and showed up for Ollie's birthday party. There I was sleeping with Ollie because he had just woken up crying. 2 am. The dog barks and wakes me up. I walk out of the boys room and there is a man's head about to peek into Clara's room. I freak out for only a split second because I recognize the head as my fathers. Shock and surprise. My Mom and Dad drove the 13 hours to surprise us and help celebrate Ollie's second Birthday!
I'm not sure how I would've executed the birthday party without my Mom's help! Maybe I was in a little over my head planning a playdate birthday party for 8 of our Mom friends and the 16 children that would accompany them. More will come on the details of the party and pictures of the birthday boy. He deserves a post all in his own toddler glory. Testing every limit and waiting for a reaction from a less patient Mom.
This is where my story ends for now. The youngest is now awake. I hope she gets over this cold soon and goes back to sleeping through the night. It's been a rough 2 weeks!

Threes
Like most events they come in threes. I'm not looking forward to the third one...
1...We took a walk to the beaver pond behind our house this morning and Ollie fell in. Luckily in a shallow part.
2...Landon fell in the toilet after demanding he didn't need to try and potty before his quiet time. He's very talented to have fell in the toilet fully clothed!
3...
I hope not to fill this empty spot. My goal for the day! It looks like avoiding the outdoors is not even a viable option since the toilet is a danger.

Verbatim
"Shhhh, I told you not to come ask Mom if we could eat candy."
This is what Landon told Craig the other night after dinner and bath time when I already told him no candy because he didn't eat dinner. It was quite amusing and definitely made me laugh out loud!
